Law Enforcement Officers from the Major Crime Unit have arrested and charged Schemel Dunbar and Kendine Douglas of Rillan Hill and also Richard Francis of Barrouallie for causing the deaths of Police Constable Danroy Cozier of Glenside, Mesopotamia and his brother Nicholas Cozier from Mountain Cabbage, Richmond Hill on May 4th, 2017 at Sion Hill Bay.
The bodies of both brothers were discovered in the area with bullet wounds.
The three men were escorted to the Serious Offences Court on Monday May 8th, 2017 before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne facing three separate charges. They were however not allowed to plea to the charges as they were laid indictable and were remanded into custody until November 5th, 2017 when the Preliminary Inquiry is expected to commence.
Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche told the Magistrate that his reason for requesting such long period of adjournment is that there is approximately 12 witnesses who are expected to give evidence in the Preliminary Inquiry along with several expert witnesses from overseas.
