The government St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) has acquired  financing to restore the former banana boxing plant and Arrowroot mill at Belle Vue into a cultural, artistic, educational, sports, and manufacturing powerhouse.

Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves stated on Wednesday’s NBC radio broadcast that the government has just acquired a $10 million loan from the Saudi Fund to finance this development.

“The new facility will include a recording studio, multimedia facilities, a theater, space for drumming and dance, an orchestra chamber, and a fitness center. In addition to agroprocessing and it will facilitate the sale of fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts”.

Former urban designer Ardon Nelson will lead the new development’s oversight committee.

It is anticipated that similar facilities would be constructed at Petit Bordel and Kingstown.
