Air Canada, which suspended flights to St Vincent and the Grenadines due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will return to the island in November.
The Canadian airline which has been operating an SVG route since 2017, will resume flights to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Nov 1, 2021.
In January, Canada’s largest airline outlined the 25% capacity reduction; the list contained 44 temporarily suspended flights, including 12 domestic, ten trans-border (USA), and a full 22 international routes.
In October, American Airlines, which maintained service to the island despite the pandemic, will restart its mid-week flight.
American Airlines will resume its mid-week service on Oct 13 from Miami.
The first European flight to the island will see Virgin Atlantic landing at the Argyle International Airport in mid-October.
Virgin Atlantic will commence nonstop flights from London Heathrow on Oct 15.
In May, a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson told News784 that while the volcano alert level was downgraded, and the clean-up was underway, they would have taken the difficult decision to delay the start of our London Heathrow-St Vincent services, which were due to commence in June, to ensure the island has restored services and infrastructure, which will enable us to sufficiently prepare our inaugural services.
The twice-weekly service will be operated by an A330-300 aircraft with 31 Upper Class, 48 Premium, and 185 Economy seats.
Tickets went on sale as of Nov 24, 2020.
In preparation for the season, St. Vincent and the Grenadines have implemented several protocols for arriving passengers, including Tourism Approved ‘Safe Zones’ serviced by fully vaccinated tourism service providers.
All fully vaccinated visitors arriving by air will only be required to quarantine for 48 hours in a Tourism Approved property. Quarantine periods for unvaccinated visitors range from 7-21 days, depending on the traveler’s origin.
