Junior John a 51-year-old resident of Port Elizabeth, Bequia is now before the Court on an indictable charge of inflicting severe cutlass wound to the body of 37 years old Adrian Thomas of the same address on Wednesday October 24th, 2018.
Reports are that on the date in question John took a cutlass and inflicted several chop wounds to the body of Thomas near the almond tree in Bequia.
Thomas subsequently underwent surgery to repair the wounds.
John was escorted to the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday October 30th facing the charges to which he was not allowed to enter pleas before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, there was no objection to his bail which was allowed in the sum of $5,000.00 with one surety.
He is not to have any contact with Thomas and was also ordered to report to the Port Elizabeth Police Station on Mondays between 6am and 6pm.
January 28th, 2018 is the date set for the commencement of the Preliminary Inquiry.
