The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed the tragic demise of local attorney Jamal Smith, whose lifeless body was discovered at his Manuel Hill residence on Tuesday night with apparent gunshot wounds.
The incident, described as “suspicious” by authorities, has prompted a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 46-year-old.
Smith’s untimely demise was revealed after a thorough search conducted by police following reports of a shooting received via the 911 call centre on Monday, March 11, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Initial reports indicated the incident occurred in the Manuel Reef area, prompting officers and an ambulance to respond swiftly. However, upon arrival, police said no evidence of foul play was discovered at the reported location.
Police said subsequent investigations led authorities to Smith’s residence in the Manuel Hill area on Tuesday, where his body was found.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene,” the RVIPF stated.
