St Vincent and the Grenadines is still awaiting approval from IATA for the Argyle International Airport.

Head of the Tourism Authority Glen Beache speaking on Boom FM this morning said that the process to have certification is currently in progress.

He says the ECCAA the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority have submitted the necessary documents to IATA International Air Transport Association.

He says the SVD code currently assigned to E.T Joshua Airport, will be transferred to Argyle which is a bit more difficult than obtaining a new one.

Beache says E.T Joshua will cease to operate on the 14th of February 2017.

The head of the Tourism Authority says,  he has every confidence that all the necessary certification will be ready in time.

ECCAA represents IATA in the Caribbean.
