St Vincent and the Grenadines could see the production of coffee very soon, this according to Agriculture Minister Saboto Ceaser.
Ceaser speaking at the launch of the “Vincentian Chocolate”, said on the horizon, is the investment from one Collin Shelton in coffee, and wishes that project all the best.
The Minister said he expects in the not too distant future St Vincent would be able to boast of an indigenous coffee product.
Last Friday St Vincent and the Grenadines today through the St Vincent Cocoa Company launched the “Vincentian Chocolate” bar.
Speaking on the launch Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar, says this new initiative will place the nation on the international stage, as a chocolate bar producing nation.
The Minister said, the Project started in 2010, and came about as a concept from the Armajaro Company. There was then the move to Ecom after Armajaro left.
The Agriculture Minister speaking on Friday said, in the spirit of diversifying, he would like more farmers explore opportunities of cultivating Cocoa, and entering into the Cocoa value chain.
