Dale Lorraine a resident of Sandy By has been given until November 23rd, 2018 to pay a fine of $6,000.00 or face a 9 months jail term of 9 months.
The fine was handed down on Monday September 10th, 2018 by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne when he app ce. A search was conducted on the bag leading to the discovery of the marijuana. eared at the Serious Offences Court and pleaded guilty of having in his possession 3,766gms of marijuana with intent to supply on June 15th, 2018.
When Lorraine was first arrested and charged and appeared before the Court he had entered a not guilty plea, he however changed his plea when he re-appeared in Court.
Lorraine was reportedly intercepted with the drug by members of the Rapid Response Unit while on mobile patrol in the Owia/Fancy public road.
He was at the time seen travelling in a truck and upon recognizing the presence of the police he jumped from the vehicle during which time the nap sack which he was carrying fell to the ground and was retrieved by the police.
