Businessman Charged with Kidnapping, Firearm Offences, and Robbery
On January 2, 2026, police arrested and charged Jamal Mc Master, a 33-year-old businessman of Mc Kies Hill, with two counts of kidnapping, possession of an illegal firearm, and robbery.
According to police investigations, the accused is alleged to have kidnapped a 17-year-old student of Edinboro on December 28, 2025, and a 31-year-old navy rating of Edinboro/England on December 28, 2025, without their consent or any other lawful authority.
He was also charged with possession of one firearm, make and serial number unknown, without a licence issued under the Firearms Act.
Additionally, the accused was charged with the offence of robbery, in that he allegedly used the said firearm to put the complainant in fear and forcibly stole one gold iPhone 16 Pro Max cellular phone valued at EC$2,000.00, the property of the 31-year-old navy rating of Edinboro/England.
The offences were committed in Arnos Vale on December 28, 2025. Mc Master appeared before the Serious Offences Court on January 2, 2026. He pleaded not guilty to the offences. However, he was remanded into custody until January 8, 2026, for his bail to be reviewed.
