Suspect in the murder of Morne Prosper woman Avonelle Charles, found dead
According to Dominica News Online, Jean Jacques, who was wanted by police in connection with the murder of Avonelle Charles, was discovered hanging from a tree on Monday.
The 48-year-old man was wanted in connection with the death of his longtime girlfriend, Avonelle Charles, both of whom lived in Morne Prosper Community.
Charles’s lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood on the road in Morne Prosper on December 31, 2022.
According to reports, she was killed during an argument between Charles and Jean Jacques around 3:00 a.m. on the aforementioned date.
Family members of the deceased and Morne Prosper residents revealed that the couple had a long history of domestic violence.
The death of Charles brought Dominica’s homicide total for 2022 to 18.
