Issued by The Barbados Meteorological Services until 6:00 pm Tomorrow, Thursday 8th December 2016.
The axis of an approaching surface trough is expected to move across the islands of the Lesser Antilles later tonight into early tomorrow.
As a consequence, cloudy to overcast skies, periods of rain, pockets of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms, along with occasional gusty winds are expected to spread across St. Vincent and the Grenadines during the next 12 to 24 hours.
Rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches (50 to 100 millimeters) with higher amounts in mountainous areas are possible.
Due to the already saturated nature of the soils, landslides and flooding are likely.
Residents are urged to be on the alert and take all necessary precautions.
A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean that flooding will occur but that it is possible.
This Watch will be updated as necessary.
The Barbados Meteorological Services and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Office will continue to monitor this system and provide the necessary updates.
