Foreign nationals arrested in ATM scam

Police here in st Vincent now have in their custody 3 St Lucian nationals who according to information are involved in an ATM scam.

Information obtained revealed that the scammers targeted a financial institution with ATM’s in Kingstown and a town in the South-East corridor of the island.

The information also revealed that the scammers were able to obtain hundreds of pin numbers using an electronic keypad device.

However, their scheme may not have gone according to plan with the foreign nationals only being able to gain cash from a few accounts,  as the institution disabled access to other accounts.

The scammers according to our information relieved customers of thousand of dollars.

Police was on the hunt Saturday night for the culprits and was able to make an arrest in the vicinity of South River road in Kingstown on Sunday.

The matter is now under investigation as a fourth individual is being sought after.
