The fuel storage facility located at the Argyle International Airport is completed and ready for testing .

This according to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves who read from a document made available to him by RUBIS.

Gonsalves says all of the equipment required for the operational phase of the facility is already in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

RUBIS has scheduled a testing and commissioning of the fuel facility and equipment for the 14th November 2016.

The process Dr. Gonsalves said according to RUBIS  involves the refueling of an aircraft.

Gonsalves further stated that there is still some work to be done on the pipeline and the buoys for the docking of the fuel tanker.

All of the pipes from the fuel storage facility to the pump station at Mt Pleasant have already been installed and pressure tested.

The Prime Minister said RUBIS intends to resume work soon on completing (A) installation of the remaining section of pipeline to Stubbs bay, (B) the sub- sea pipeline and (C) the buoys in the sea.

Gonsalves also indicated from the document that RUBIS said all of the remaining work can be done within two months at the outside date.

RUBIS further stated in the document that the remaining works on the pipeline and buoys will not in any way affect the ability of the fuel facility to supply an aircraft, Gonsalves said.

The Prime Minister said RUBIS has already made adequate arrangements to provide fuel to the storage facility to supply any size aircraft in the event that the docking facility at Stubbs Bay is not completed in time for the commencement of operations at the Argyle International Airport.
