Mason Charged with Assault and Damage to Property
On January 22, 2026, police arrested and charged Ackeeme Hazel, a 33-year-old mason of Largo Height, with the offences of assault and damage to property.
According to investigations, the accused assaulted a 44-year-old electrician of the same address by striking him to the face with his hands, causing Actual Bodily Harm.
He was also charged with, without lawful excuse, damaging one pair of prescription glasses valued at $1,700.00 EC, by striking the complainant and causing the glasses to fall to the ground and break.
The offences were committed on January 18, 2026. Hazel appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on January 23, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $2,500.00 ECC and was ordered not to have any contact with the complainant.
He was also ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday and Thursday between 6am and 6pm. The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Calliaqua Magistrate Court for January 27, 2026.
