Brenton Carr, a 27-year-old labourer from the community of Sayers in the Mesopotamia Valley, has been arrested and charged by the police on two separate charges.
Carr was charged with having in his possession an imitation firearm at Freeland and Montaque in Mesopotamia on February 7th, 2017.
According to a Police source of the Mesopotamia Police Station, the defendant went about in the communities mentioned with the imitation firearm pointing it at passers-by, threatening to shoot them.
Carr was on Wednesday, February 8th, escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court facing the charges before Senior Magistrate Bertie Pompey and entered a plea of not guilty.
However, the Prosecution objected to his bail and stated that the Carr was already on bail for another offence. He was remanded into custody.
The matter was adjourned and transferred to Mesopotamia Magistrates court, to be heard on March 17th, 2017 before Magistrate Ricky Bernett.
