Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves said Medium-term growth prospects for the economy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, will be more favorable in 2019.
In winding up the debate in Parliament, on Thursday February 7, 2019, Minister Gonsalves quoted from a document, prepared by the Credit Rating Agency, Moody’s, which highlighted economic growth over the next three years, supported by the development of the Canouan Marina, the opening of the Argyle International Airport, the Construction of a geothermal Project and the re-opening of the Buccama Bay Resort.
The culmination of the Debate on the 2019 Budget, culminated with the approval of the 2019 appropriation bill, the Governor General’s in Monuments and Pension Amendment Bill for 2019 and also a resolution was passed, to approve St. Vincent and the Grenadine’s membership, in the inter-parliamentary Union.
The budget for the 2019 fiscal year amounts to 1.067 billion dollars, representing an increase of 7.64 percent, over the approved budget for 2018.
Parliament will reconvene on Thursday February 21st 2019
