Law Enforcement Officer at the Calliaqua Police Station have arrested and charged 34 years old Glenville Harry of Vermont, 26 years old Elroy Rogers of New Montrose and 29 years old Roquan Robinson of Campden Park for the offence of robbery.
The three men are accused of arming themselves with a gun on September 15th, 2018 just after 9 pm in the vicinity of her home at Cedars and deprived her of a handbag which contained an I-phone along with other items amounting to over $10,000.00.
The trio was escorted to the Family Court in Kingstown on Tuesday ,September 18th before President Coleen McDowald facing the joint charge which was laid indictable to which they were not allowed to enter a plea and as a result the Prosecutor objected to their bail and requested that the matter be adjourned and transferred to the Kingstown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett to have him set a date for the Preliminary Inquiry.
When the accused men appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Tuesday, September 19th, Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche strongly objected to their bail.
He told the Court that his reason for doing so was due to the fact that in recent time there has been a spate of reported robberies in the state, some of which the Police is yet to solve.
He also pointed out that if bail is granted that the men would hinder the progress of the investigation some of which are murder offences. He asked that the men be remanded into custody for a few more days.
Delpeshe’s objection was upheld and the trio was remanded into custody until October 3rd, 2018 when their bail would be reviewed.
The Preliminary Inquiry has been set for January 14th, 2019.
