22 year old Jerroy Philips a resident of Redemption Sharpes who is of interest to the Criminal Investigation Department with regards to the death of a shop-keeper from Hollywood at Redemption Sharpes recently is now before the Court on two separate charges of robbery and kidnapping upon 22 year old Antonio Baptiste on October 27th, 2018.
Reports are that on the date in question Phillips along with another male armed themselves with a gun and deprived Baptiste with one cellular phone valued approximately $500.00 putting him in fear and on the same day by force stole and carried Baptiste away in his own vehicle.
Baptiste at the time was seated in his vehicle which was parked on the public road at McKies Hill.
Phillips was escorted to the Serious Offences Courts on Monday November 19th, 2018 facing the two charges that was laid indictable to which he was not allowed to enter a plea.
When the issue of bail arose Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche strongly objected to bail citing that Phillips was of interest to the Police with regards to offenses of similar nature one of which is a capital offense and that investigations are at delicate stage.
He also stated that if bail is granted Phillips may hinder such.
He was remanded into custody until November 26th, 2018 to facilitate a bail review.
