Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Tyrone Lavia, 48 years old resident of Owia.
According to investigations, on 10.08.2021 about 12:05 p.m. the SVG Coast Guard Service was alerted to a report of a lifeless body floating in the waters off the vicinity of Baleine and Copper Hole.
As a result, Coast Guard personnel responded to the report and retrieved the body of the deceased with the assistance of some fisherman in the area. The body was subsequently taken to the SVG Coast Guard Base, Calliaqua where it was later identified to be Tyrone Lavia, 48 years old of Owia.
The cause of death is not yet known. A post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing.
