Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Irwin Patterson, 71-year-old, watchman of Layou that occurred on 24.11.2020.
According to investigations, Patterson was employed as a watchman at a quarry in the Mt. Wynne area. About 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Patterson’s co-worker discovered him faced down gasping for breath and summoned the police from the Barrouallie Police Station.
As a result, the officers visited the scene. Patterson was then rushed to the Buccament Bay Poly-clinic to seek medical attention and later transferred to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the body of the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death.
