Preliminary Report Of Weather Impact On SVG

Preliminary reports from National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) on the impacts of the Trough System which affected SVG are as follows:

Housing

Number Destroyed: 15

Number Damaged: 20

Infrastructure

• Fifteen (15) reported landslides

• Eight(8)reported damaged bridges

• Eight (8) reported damaged roads

The Roads Bridges and General Services Authority are conducting assessment and clean-up operations.

Water

The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) reported that all systems north of the Rabacca River have sustained extensive damage and are without water. The Hermitage area is blocked in North Leeward.

Electricity

The St. Vincent Electricity Services reported that the areas north of the Rabacca River and Hope/Vermont are without electricity. Electricity poles were washed out in the areas of Mt. Young and Perseverance. The intake and Hydro Station in Richmond is blocked and part of the pipeline at Cumberland broke due to landslide.
