The Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Council of the SVG Mission of Seventh Day Adventists will be hosting a Flea Market Extravaganza and Vendor Fair on Independence Day, Friday, October 27, 2017, to raise funds for the Hurricane Relief efforts in the Leeward Islands.

Lawyer and President of the Council, Mrs Meisha Cruickshank, stated that the event was initially organized to raise funds for a conference to be held in January.

However, she explains that the Council decided that, in light of the recovery efforts that are ongoing, it would be appropriate to rebrand the event and divert a significant portion of funds raised to the relief efforts.

“We thought that this could be an excellent opportunity to raise funds for our sister islands in need. We will be selling new and used clothes, shoes, bags, household items, books, you name it”, she said.

“We will also have a hurricane relief donation bin for persons who wish to make donations in kind”. Free health checks and free legal advice will also be offered to the Vincentian public.

Mrs. Cruickshank said the Flea Market Extravaganza and Vendor Fair is free and open to the public. “We will be featuring several vendors with an array of products and services for sale.

We want people to come with a free hand and a full pocket. We are encouraging everyone in attendance to spend money for a worthy cause”, she said.

Anyone wishing to donate items can do so at any Seventh Day Adventist Church, at CaribiDreams Office located in Brown’s Hardware Building, or at the SVG Mission Office at Old Montrose.

The Flea Market Extravaganza and Vendor Fair are scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2017, Independence Day, at the SVG SDA Mission Grounds, next to former Shepherd’s Building, Old Montrose from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

“We anticipate that most people will be attending the Independence Parade at Victoria Park. So once the Parade is finished, head over to the SVG Mission Office and enjoy the Flea Market and Vendor Fair. It promises to be a great event”, she said.

The event is sponsored by the SVG Mission of Seventh Day Adventists.
