LIDAR Mapping of St. Vincent
Vincentians have expressed concern, as an aircraft which was seen circling the country on November 28 was again seen on December 9.
St Vincent Times understands that the aircraft which belongs to KalusAir Services is carrying out LIDAR mapping of the island.
The Land and Surveys department confirmed the foregoing information to the publication on Tuesday evening.
LiDAR mapping uses laser pulses to create highly accurate 3D maps of the Earth’s surface, generating detailed “point clouds” that capture natural and built features, crucial for GIS, urban planning, environmental management (forests, floodplains), geology, and autonomous vehicles.
