- SVG COMMENDS QATAR ON ITS ROLE IN PRISONER SWAP BETWEEN VENEZUELA AND USA
The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) commends the State of Qatar and His Highness, the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for their extraordinary efforts in facilitating the recent swap of prisoners and detainees between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the United States of America.
The swap took place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the island of Canouan on December 20, 2023.
The GOSVG further encourages the Government of the State of Qatar to continue its selfless, peace-building quest to secure a possible normalisation of relations between Venezuela and the USA in accordance with the fundamental tenets of the Charter of the United Nations.
The Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines extended his government’s commendation and encouragement to the distinguished Emir of Qatar in a letter dated December 22, 2023.
