Saint Vincent Takes Home Gloria Ballantyne Championship Trophy
Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines claimed the Gloria Ballantyne Championship Trophy when the 4th ECCB International Netball Series concluded at the Beausejour Indoor Facility in Saint Lucia last evening.
Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines dominated the Series, remaining undefeated in all seven matches played. Along with securing the prestigious championship trophy, the team was honoured with the award for the best shooting team, boasting an impressive 88.8 per cent accuracy. Mary Ann Frederick, playing as the team’s Goal Shoot, was recognised as the tournament’s most accurate shooter.
Defending Champions, Team Grenada, finished in second place, with Saint Lucia securing third. Grenada earned the title of best defending team, while Jermia Marshall of Saint Lucia was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Team Anguilla, making its first appearance in the tournament in over a decade, was acknowledged as the most improved team in the Series.
Seven teams from ECCB member countries—Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines competed in the tournament with the Cayman Islands participating as a visiting team.
