Harold aka “Nancy” Fernandez from Villa a popular Taxi Operator based at the Argyle International Airport has been arrested and charged on an assault-related offence.
Fernandez is accused of inflicting several slaps to the face of Hideto Kijima of Japan at the above-mentioned airport on Wednesday, September 19th.
Fernandez was escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court on the morning of Thursday, September 20th, 2018 and pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault.
When the question of bail arose Prosecutor Corleen Samuel had no objection.
As a result Fernandez was allowed bail in the sum of $1,000.00 with one surety.
When asked by the Senior Magistrate if there was anyone present to bail him he said not at the moment and as a result the Magistrate stated that he is a well-known person in this society and allowed him bail in his own recognizance.
The matter has been adjourned and transferred to the Calliaqua Magistrate Court on September 24th, 2018 to be heard before District Magistrate Zola Ellis-Browne.
