United Airlines will begin service (flights) to St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year (2024), as the southern Caribbean island tourism market expands.
While authorities have not revealed the specific date of the start of flights, Sandals Executive Chairman Adam Stewart announced at the launch of the company’s newest resort in SVG that United Airlines and JetBlue will begin flying to St. Vincent this year.
The United Airlines flights will take off from Newark International Airport, which is located between the cities of Newark in Essex County and Elizabeth in Union County, New Jersey, USA, while JetBlue will utilize JFK in New York.
Stewart stated that United and JetBlue Airlines would fly to this destination for the first time, while Air Canada will double its operations.
“All tides will rise with the Sandals effect, which will mean increased airlift convenience for Vincentian travellers. It will allow visitors to access this magnificent, untouched archipelago more easily than they have ever done before”, said Stewart.
The Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois is the headquarters of United Airlines, Inc., a large American airline.
In the late 1920s, numerous airlines merged to become United, the earliest of which being Varney Air Lines, founded in 1926 by Walter Varney, who later co-founded the forerunner to Continental Airlines.
United joined Star Alliance in 1997 as one of the five founding airlines, and it is still a member today. Since its merger with Continental in 2010, United has continuously ranked among the world’s largest airlines; it is currently first in terms of destinations served and third in terms of revenue and fleet size.
