WEFM Radio 99.9 will on Thursday, April 18th celebrate its 22nd year of broadcasting.
This privately-owned radio station launched its broadcast in April of 1997 and is presently ranked by media surveys among the leading broadcasting entities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
With broadcast facilities at Windy Point, a peninsula that separates the Campden Park and Questelles bays, WE FM has after 22 years, made great strides in broadcasting.
Program Manager Donnie Collins says WE FM prides itself as the alternative radio station, with the main objective of providing the quality broadcasting to the public.
Mr. Collins said that with programming comes challenges – one of which includes the transitioning of mainstream to social media.
And Administrative Assistant Mrs. Jamella Samuel says the experience of working with the company has been a rewarding one.
WE FM is owned by Managing Director Julius Jules Williams and Operated by Operations Manager Susan DeFreitas, at present the company has 12 members on staff.
