Woman chopped to death, Vincentian man in custody

Vincentian national Lennox ‘Ocho’ Da Silva is being held by police in the BVI for the fatal hacking of a woman in the Greenland community of East End, Tortola.

According to BVINews, the Vincentian national up to publication time last evening was not charged.The woman so far has been identified only as Sherika. Reports are that her throat was slashed.

The murder last evening is the sixth being reported in the British Virgin Islands since the start of the year.

According to the publication, the relationship had a rocky history and dated back to 2014 when the man visited the late woman in Jamaica.

BVINews reported that at the time of his visit he was shot multiple times, and was at the victim’s house when the incident occurred.

According to the report, the Vincentian national had visited Jamaica to marry the woman. The wedding subsequently took place, and the woman relocated to the British Virgin Islands.
