11 Calypsonians advance to 2026 Calypso Finals

The Carnival Development Corporation has officially announced the eleven calypsonians selected from the semi-finals to compete for the ultimate crown at this year’s Vincy Mas Calypso Finals.

The highly anticipated musical showdown is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 5th at Victoria Park, with the event kicking off at 8:00 pm.

The ‘Upstage’ calypso tent is dominating this year’s finals with five performers securing their spots, while ‘On Tour’, ‘Dynamites’, and ‘Calypso Carbaret’ also feature strong representation.

The official list of finalists, their selected renditions, and their respective tents are as follows:

  • Cecile ‘Lil Bit’ King performing “Liberation year” (Upstage)
  • Chanique Bailey performing “Lift me up” (Dynamites)
  • Grantley ‘Ipa’ Constance performing “My Party lose” (Calypso Carbaret)
  • Kemmy Christopher performing “Hope” (Dynamites)
  • Kenley ‘Lyrical Melody’ Baptiste performing “I am a Vincy” (Upstage)
  • Kenneth ‘Vibrating Scakes’ Alleyne performing “Havana” (On Tour)
  • Lornette ‘Fya Empress’ Nedd performing “De Search” (Upstage)
  • Robert ‘Patches’ Knights performing “Bull Wood” (Calypso Carbaret)
  • Shaunelle McKenzie performing “At we doorstep” (Upstage)
  • Shena Collis performing “New Chef in the kitchen” (Upstage)
  • Utamo ‘Bongo Prime’ Rose performing “The Messenger” (On Tour)

Additionally, Elvis ‘Abijah’ Abbey from the ‘On Tour’ tent has been named as the reserve with his rendition “Ah done forget”.

In preparation for the major event, the Carnival Development Corporation has scheduled a mandatory meeting for all finalists and a representative from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Band. This meeting will be held on Monday, June 29th at Victoria Park, commencing at 4:30 pm.
