According to St. Vincent Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, 1300 persons on the island have already received funds through the Promoting Youth Micro Enterprises (PRYME) scheme.
According to Gonsalves, approximately $10 million has been spent on the scheme, with an additional $12 million planned.
The Promoting Youth Micro Enterprises (PRYME) programme was started in March 2020, with cash grants ranging from $3,000.00 to $40,000.
It was first proposed at Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves’ Budget address that year, and it was quickly implemented as one of the stimulus measures in response to the expected economic effects from the COVID-19 epidemic.
