The Grenadine island of Canouan have recorded 39 COVID-19 cases, 20 of which are children.
The disclosure was made by Director of Grenadine Affairs Mr. Edwin Snagg last Friday.
“Canouan is even more precarious, because Canouan actually bothers me in a significant way. What we have in Canouan at this time really is 39 cases, and to have 39 cases in a small community like the Canouan community, that’s a very serious concern.
“What’s worrying about it, is that there are 18 children who have tested positive, between the ages of 11 and 12 and furthermore, there’s an 11 month old and a two year old who also tested positive”. Snagg said.
Snagg stated that the situation in Canouan is very troubling due to the fact that the communities on the island are very close knit.
Fifteen (15) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in SVG on Monday 20 September. Two deaths were also reported bring the total to 16.
