Looking good, Bill.
The medical team for former President Bill Clinton gave an upbeat assessment on the former president’s health, saying he is responding well to treatment for sepsis.
“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care,” Clinton spokesman Angel Urena said on Twitter.
Clinton, 75, was admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center on Tuesday evening due to fatigue and found to have an infection of the bloodstream potentially caused by a urinary tract infection, CNN reported.
“We hope to have him go home soon,” said Dr. Alpesh Amin and Dr. Lisa Bardackin in a statement.
The physicians treating Clinton said his white blood cell count is trending downwards and is responding well after two days of treatment with antibiotics and fluids.
“The California-based medical team is coordinated with his New York-based doctors, including his cardiologist,” said the doctors at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. “He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring,”
