Minister of Tourism Cecil Mckee said they are very positive about the arrivals by air.
He said if you look at arrivals by air last year the numbers showed a slight reduction and they have been able to attribute that directly to the UK market.
He said there have been a 27 percent fall off, Buccament was key to having visitors from the UK, that facility was always 80 percent fill all year round he stated.
“ With that no longer around to help us with marketing in that niche market, I think it is hurting us badly”.
“ We are anxious to have that facility up to and running, so we can once again continue the discussion with folks in the UK”.
He said that was a key component with visitors and airlines out of the UK Since room numbers are important to the discussions.
