30yro with no fixed aboard gets 4yrs in prison

Kamanie “Gambino” Joe a 30 years old unemployed young man originally of Calder but currently of no fixed place of aboard will spend the next four and one-half years in prison.

He was informed of his fate on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne after he was convicted for having in his possession one Smith and Wesson magnum revolver which contained six rounds of ammunition without the relevant license on September 17th, 2017 at Top Questelles.

The Court heard that on the date in question police were on routing mobile patrol in the Questelles area where Joe was seen walking in the public road smoking a cannabis cigarette.

 The Law Enforcement Officers alighted the vehicle and the Joe began to run after he recognized the presence of the police.  The police then chased after Joe and it was during such time the firearm fell from him.

The police retrieved the weapon after they had fired a warning shot and the defendant stopped running. He was then arrested and charged.
