POLICE PRESS RELEASE
Police are investigating an incident, involving an American man, which occurred between Bequia and Carriacou on Sunday 11th March, 2018 about 9:30 a.m.
According to reports, Sarro Fattahi, 70 years from Washington DC, was on a Yacht, travelling from Bequia to Carriacou, with two (2) other passengers.
Fattahi reportedly fell out of his life jacket, after being struck in his head by a dingy (which went loose), while attempting to board it in an effort to secure it.
The other passengers made attempts to rescue Fattahi, but their efforts proved futile. The SVG Coast Guard was called to assist about 12:10 p.m.
At the time of the incident, the body of Fathahi was not recovered. A search is presently on the way.
