(By Javin Jacobs) – The government of St Vincent and the Grenadines is currently undertaking an extensive school rehabilitation program.

The program will see some 94 schools being repaired. Finance Minister Camilo Gonsalves said that no such program has ever been undertaken in SVG and at the end of rehabilitation monies expended will reach 20 million dollars.

” A school repair and reconstruction program was initiated at the onset of the education revolution, but it did not reach six million dollars and that’s not including the 2 million dollars that are being spent through the B NT F at Calliaqua, New Grounds and Park Hill”.

“We are now approaching 9 Million and that does not include the cost of the temporary classrooms that are being built to house these students in the meantime”.

“Those temporary classrooms in total will exceed a million dollars in cost particularly because the one at Park Hill the prime minister intend for it to be more permanent than temporary So it is going to be slightly more substantial”.
