Basketball Player Brendon Smart Says Thank You

Vincentian Basketball player Brendon Smart in a Facebook post expressed thanks to those who made it possible for his Journey so far.

Brendon Smart of South Rivers left the island on Tuesday 18th October to take up a basketball scholarship at the Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.

Brendon in his post gave thanks to God for everything that has been put in place for him.

Smart went on to thank his family for supporting him through obstacles. He expressed a special thank you to his big brother Akeme Smart who he says motivated him even when he wanted to give up.

Smart will for the next four years pursue an educational opportunity at that institution while seeking to advance his skills in basketball.

Smart did not leave out the love of his life China Primus to whom he said has always been there for him when he felt depressed to the point of failure. Smart said China has never allowed him to go it alone.

Brendon had a special thank you for Craig Sam and Wayne Ferdinand Abbott Williams who was the driving force after God for him being in Taiwan today.

Brendon scholarship was made possible through the efforts of St Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation current president Wayne Williams and fellow countryman Craig Lee Sam, who is coaching in Taiwan.

His many friends were not left out to whom he says was always there for him in so many ways.

Smart says this is a new beginning and he is going to make the best out of it making his homeland proud.
