CIVIL SERVANTS TO REMAIN AT HOME TODAY

Kingstown SVG: November 9th, 2016 – Deputy Director of NEMO, Michelle Forbes has issued a statement that St. Vincent and the Grenadines is currently being affected by a trough system.

Speaking on the state-owned National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC Radio Forbes called on civil servants to remain at home except for essential services and members of the National Emergency Council who are asked to report to work as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves will make a statement regarding the current weather system in a short while.

Meanwhile, General Manager of the Central Water and Sewerage Authority Garth Saunders has reported that some of their water systems were impacted by the heavy rainfall. As a precautionary measure, the CWSA will move to shut down some of its water systems to avoid further damage. Persons are encouraged to fill up water for use.
