The National Executive of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) will be engaged in several strike actions across the state this week.
In a release, the Union is advising its members vaccinated and unvaccinated to:
Continue to go to physical and online classes on Monday 6 December 2021;
Stay away from all face to face and online classes (STRIKE) on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8.
Continue with all normal work on Thursday 9.
Picket at the Vegetable Market in Kingstown, Union Island, Administrative Building in Canouan and Bequia on Friday 10″ December 2021 from 9:30 a.m.
The Union stated that all Covid- I 9 Protocols will be strictly enforced at the picket line.
The Union is protesting the government’s COVID-19 mandate for all frontline workers which teachers are a part of.
