In this regard, Francisco Pérez Santana, Head of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in a television program broadcasted by VC3TV explained that “the 3rd edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival was created as an audiovisual space that shows social issues that weave the notion of Venezuelan identity as a reference for the cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean.

This edition invites us to See what we are from a reality told in its dialectical relationship between audiovisual language and daily practice”. The diplomat also mentioned that the Venezuelan Institute has held two previous editions in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; the first in 2018 and the second in 2019 on an itinerant basis, “we move around with our screen, the video projector, the films and the desire to promote our art in every corner of the island, in schools, communities and in prisons”.

The Academic Coordinator of the IVCC in SVG, Prof. Andreina Bermúdez Di Lorenzo pointed out that due to the Covid-19 situation, the 3rd edition of the Venezuelan International Film Festival See what we are will be broadcasted by the television channel VC3 of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for approximately two months, «The Embassy of Venezuela and its Institute, are aware of the importance of promoting the cultural values of the Caribbean; to develop this edition in an open and massive way and the opportunity to massify Venezuelan cinema at SVG will guarantee that a larger number of Vincentians will have the opportunity to enjoy this Venezuelan film festival for free, as part of the cultural policy of the Bolivarian Revolution to share our high-quality cinematographic experiences and deep social impact”, said Bermúdez .
