Belmont Resident Gets 4 Years For Possession of illegal Gun And Ammunition

Benson Browne a 23-year olf resident of Belmont will be detained at the Belle Isle Correctional facility for the next 4 years on separate charges of gun and ammunition possession without the relevant licenses to hold same.

His detention came last Monday, December 12th, 2016 when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne and pleaded guilty for having in his possession one pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition on December 8th, 2016 at his Belmont home.

The illegal weapons were discovered by the police after a search warrant was executed for same. Meanwhile, Browne was also arrested and charged with the attempted murder on the life of Camron Delpesche of the same address on December 4th, 2016. The Preliminary Inquiry is slated for March 30th, 2016 at the Serious Offences Court
