Union Island fisherman charged with possession of 211 pounds of weed

On Saturday, February 26th, 2022 at Union Island, police arrested and charged Kennol Alexander, 37 years old Fisherman of Ashton, Union Island with the offence of Possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to supply it to another.

According to investigations, on 26.02.22, members of the Rapid Response Unit and officers attached to the Union Island Police Station conducted a search at the residence of the Accused and discovered 95794 Grammes (211 pounds) of Cannabis.

The Accused subsequently was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to supply it to another.

The Accused appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Monday, February 28, 2022, to answer the charge and plead guilty.

He was fined $106,500 with $10, 00.00 to be paid forthwith or two (2) months in prison. The balance is to be paid by December 1, 2022, or one (1) year in prison.
