Fans are convinced that Rihanna has split from her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky just weeks before they’re due to welcome their first child together.
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive after a fashion influencer claimed in a tweet on Thursday that A$AP – real name Rakim Mayers – had cheated on the pregnant star with shoe designer Amina Muaddi.
While the claims are unsubstantiated and the stars have not commented on the matter, it didn’t stop Twitter going into meltdown at the comment.
A tweet from fashion blogger Louis Pisano read: ‘Rihanna & ASAP Rocky have split. Rihanna broke up with him after she caught him cheating with shoe designer Amina Muaddi.’
He continued: ‘Amina was responsible for designing Fenty’s footwear offering and Rihanna is often seen in custom shoes from her own label.
‘ASAP & Amina is not new though as she was seeing him years ago and also collaborated with him on a collection of shoes. Things apparently hit the fan at Craigs in LA.’
Three days ago, Rihanna, 34, was spotted in a pair of shoes designed by Amina, and reposted images of the look on Instagram.
‘She’s such a nice person. She sent me some Fenty clothes when she launched her own label – I feel amazing when I’m wearing them. There’s that swagger, you feel like you are channelling Rihanna.’
She added to Harper’s Bazaar: ‘Fenty reached out to me because Ri liked what I did and she was wearing my shoes and rocking them flawlessly.’
It is not known if Amina is currently in a relationship.
Louis claimed in his tweets that A$AP, 33, and Amina had dated in the past, but although the pair have been friends for years, it is not known if their relationship was ever of a romantic nature.
The duo collaborated on a shoe collection in 2020, however, with Amina telling Vogue at the time: ‘I wanted to do it with someone who shares my values and my perspective on creativity and design.
‘Rocky doesn’t compromise himself in his work or whatever he does; he’s a perfectionist the same way I am.’
Following the shock split claims, shocked fans tweeted: ‘Gonna see a bunch of “A$AP cheating on Rihanna is proof that …” think pieces when y’all do not know these people at all’; ‘
‘If RIHANNA can get cheated on no one is safe I give up on men , if someone is cheating up on RIHANNA’; ‘NOO not Rihanna I’m not having it pls I can’t wake up pressed this morning’; ‘It seems tweeps are more concerned about Rihanna and A$ap’s split than the two of them actually are.’
MailOnline has contacted Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and Amina’s representatives for comment.
Rihanna and Rocky were initially linked in November of 2020 after it was reported that they were seeing each other following the singer’s split from her ex-boyfriend, Hassan Jameel.
The two had been acquainted ever since the early 2010s, when they began performing and touring with each other.
Rihanna and Rocky remained friends for much of the decade before People confirmed that they were officially dating in November 2020.
The pair embarked on a romantic vacation to the singer’s native Barbados the following month, and the rapper spent Christmas with his girlfriend’s family.
Rocky first spoke about their relationship in May 2021 in a GQ interview, where he called the Barbados born singer ‘the love of his life.’
The Fashion Killa hitmaker – who has never been dogged with claims of infidelity in the past – said: ‘She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones…. I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.’
The couple announced they were expecting their first child together earlier this year.
Earlier this week, Rihanna gushed about her partner in a chat with Vogue magazine as she explained how their relationship blossomed.
‘People don’t get out of the friend zone very easily with me,’ she revealed. ‘And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in.’
She said that quarantine had brought the pair closer together, noting: ‘He became my family in that time.
‘There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bulls**t, it’s just us living. I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.’
She continued: ‘What I love the most about us? Transparency with everything: how we’re feeling, what our goals are, what our fears and insecurities are.
‘The vulnerability to be able to say what you feel about each other.’
Earlier this year it was claimed the couple are planning to say ‘I do’ in Barbados with the pop star lining up Prime Minister Mia Mottley, 56, as the newborn’s godmother.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: ‘Rihanna is totally smitten with A$AP. They have a very close bond and Rihanna has always been quite traditional.
‘They will be married, for sure. She has told pals she wants to be with him for ever, and he has said the same. There are no plans yet as to when the nuptials will be but it won’t be before the baby is born. She has always wanted to get married and A$AP is her forever person.’
