Now in its third year of operation, The Healthy and Environmentally Friendly Youth (HEY) Campaign, will be launching its 2022 chapter on Wednesday, May 25th 2022 at 10 AM EST virtually via The HEY Campaign’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Livestream.
Launched in 2020, by Ashley Lashley, the HEY campaign now has over 100 global climate activists from the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, North and Latin America and Africa. These climate activities range from nine (9) to twenty-seven (27) years old and have been equipped with the necessary tools to adapt and advocate for lifestyles that are both healthy and environmentally friendly. They have also led youth advocacy and action efforts to develop inclusive societies where the value of life and dignity are cherished.
Since its inception, the Campaign has released a Students Declaration in collaboration with The University of the West Indies and St. George’s University, entitled “The Climate is Changing, Why Aren’t We?”, which is another strong call to action from young people in the region. Two other achievements of the Campaign, are the inaugural Global HEY Parliament, where outer HEY Parliamentarians engage in meaningful discussions around the impacts, effects and solutions of the climate crisis under the watchful eye of some of our partnered experts! Additionally, our Global Youth Network Summit in its fourth year running brings together experts and youth on topics and themes such as Climate Change and Health, Sports for Climate Action and this year around Women’s and Children’s Health.
Under the patronage of The Ashley Lashley Foundation and with the support of its partners UNICEF, the Clara Lionel Foundation, Open Society Foundations and The Children’s Environmental Rights Initiative; HEY Regional Focal Points and Ambassadors will participate in a vibrant, engaging and active program with various global opportunities.
