Sailors from 5 islands to take part in National Sailing Championships

SVG Sailing Association to hold National Championships 17 December

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association will hold its national championships on December 17 at the Blue Lagoon Hotel and Marina.

Twenty sailors from St. Vincent, Bequia, Canouan, Mayreau, and Union Island will compete. They’re competing in the Optimist and ILCA 6 classes.

The SVG Sailing Association runs a community sailing programme. The main goal is to have fun and uncover talent for international competitions or industrial opportunities.

The 20 sailors are:

Junior Sailing Academy Bequia: Jamark Osbourne, Damien Miller, Lamont Gregg, Jardel Osbourne

Bequia Youth Sailors: Drew Mitchell, Joshua Osbourne

Okean’s Youth Sailing Club, Canouan: Emmanuel Williams, Frankie Mitchell

Happy Kites, Union Island: Adeewno Jacobs

Mayreau Sailing Club: Stephon Forde, Norfrik Baptiste, Azeem Forde, Jarvon Bartholomew

Vincy Sailing Club, St Vincent: Scarlett Hadley, Logan Banfield, Joshua Glass, Royal Boatswain, Nyle Wilkes, Kai Marks Dasent, Tegan Deane
