Douglas De Freitas court date has now been pushed back to the 21st of April 2017.
De Freitas who should have been in court today to answer some 14 charges stemming back to statements he made regarding elections 2015, said his lawyer Bacchus-Baptiste had to travel to St Lucia.
He said his lawyer made a request for the case to be postponed due to her travels and the request was granted.
A number of Magistrates have recused themselves in the case against Nice Radio Proprietor Douglas Defreitas, including Magistrate Zoila Ellis-Browne and Magistrate Bertie Pompey
Douglas De Freitas, a political activist was slapped with 14 charges, according to summons received, De Freitas made statements contrary to Section 64 (1) of the Criminal Code, Chapter 171 of the Revised Edition of the Laws of St Vincent and the Grenadines, 2009.
De Freitas on his early morning show on Nice Radio spoke in an upbeat manner to which he played the song “ Break Every Chain”.
