One of the many success stories from the Canouan Kids Soccer program is that of Altica Benn. Benn joined the Canouan Kids Soccer Program when she was just 7 years old and began demonstrating great skills and determination.

She travelled to Barbados with the Canouan Kids Team and won the final game 6-0.

From there Altica moved to the mainland, St. Vincent, where she signed up with one of the country’s top junior soccer coaches, Mr Ian Sardine.

She then went on to represent her country in the under 13 age group, remaining with the national team until August 2016.

She has been fortunate to travel to countries such as Suriname and Haiti; experiences that humbled her after seeing firsthand how fortunate she was compared to others.

Altica won most outstanding goalkeeper in 2016 and shortly afterwards received a two-year Scholarship, through Mr Sardine, to play with the Ranger College Soccer Team in the state of Texas, USA.

Already she has made her mark by assisting the team to place 3rd overall in her first league game. With 2 draws, 5 wins and 3 losses, the team made it to the semifinals.

Despite the loss, her coaches commended her for an outstanding performance.
