A toddler, aged one, required medical treatment at a hospital for minor injuries sustained during a dog attack while attending creche in Grand Bahama.

As per the Royal Bahamas Police Force, at approximately 2:50 pm on Monday, authorities were informed of a dog that had entered a creche facility in The Ridge Community. During the incident, a one-year-old kid sustained bites on his left foot and right leg.

The child was sent to the hospital and received medical attention for minor injuries that did not pose a risk to their life.

The owner of the dog, who is cooperating with the authorities, has been recognised by the officers and is collaborating in their investigation.

The Animal Control Unit has confiscated all the dogs from the owner’s residence. The investigations are ongoing about the matter.

The police department recommends that all pet owners take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of their animals and avoid such incidents from happening.
