Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper, Vincentian Cultural Ambassador, was awarded in New York for his remarkable achievements in the musical industry.
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, Hooper was honoured at the Vincentian-American Independent National Charities Incorporated (VINCI) Gala.
Representative Yvette Carke presented him with a proclamation, and New York City Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse presented him with a City Council citation.
Fireman, who won the Power Soca competition for Vincy Mas 2023, extends his 12-year reign as Soca monarch.
Atiba T. Edwards and Claudette Thomas-Butler were both honoured at the ceremony.
